More about DACs

Siemon DACs are a low-cost, low-power inter-rack connection alternative that delivers greater performance and durability in high-speed top-of-rack applications. They are ideal for high-density systems where power consumption and heat generation are important considerations.

These DACs are also available in hybrid breakout assemblies, such as QSFP28 to 4 x SFP28 for 4 x 25 Gb/s applications and QSFP+ to 4 SFP+ for 4 x 10 Gb/s applications, to help you save money by reducing switch port counts and saving space.

DACs are a cost-effective and efficient means to link devices, but their length is limited. Passive DACs have a maximum length of around 5 meters, whereas active DACs with signal conditioning circuitry have a maximum length of 10 meters. DACs are well suited for a Top-of-Rack (ToR) data centre layout because to their distance limitations.
